This policy covers the TrendVision Discord bot (application ID 913985359522693140) and the services it powers. It explains what the bot receives from Discord, what we keep, for how long, and how to have it removed.
By adding TrendVision to a server, the server's owner or administrator enables the collection described below for that server. If you are a member of a server that uses TrendVision and you do not want your messages retained, you can opt out individually without leaving the server.
TrendVision reads messages in the servers it has been added to. This is required for its features: commands are typed as messages, moderation rules are matched against message text, alert forwarding relays messages between channels, the trading journal is built from the trades members post, and ticker-mention analytics are derived from what is discussed.
For each message we record:
We do not download or store the attachment files themselves — only the Discord link to them, which stops working when the message is deleted.
Direct messages sent to the bot are not recorded. Messages sent by other bots, and messages containing no text, are not recorded.
For moderation and access control, we record server IDs and names, channel IDs and names, role assignments, join and leave events, the invite used to join and who created it, and the account creation date shown in join alerts. Command usage is logged as the command name, the user, and the server it was used in.
If you purchase a subscription, we store the Discord account ID linked to it and whether the subscription is currently active, so the bot can grant and revoke the corresponding role. Payment details are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Message content | 6 months, then deleted automatically |
| Alert-forwarding records (message IDs only, no text) | 3 days |
| Server, role and subscription records | While the bot is in the server / the subscription exists |
| Command usage logs | 6 months |
Message retention is enforced by an expiry set on the data itself, not by a manual cleanup step.
Stored data is held on servers we operate and is accessible only to TrendVision operators. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with third parties. Aggregate analytics published by the bot (such as most-discussed tickers) contain no message text and do not identify members.
We do not use message content to train machine learning or AI models, including large language models.
Some features send data to service providers so the bot can function — market-data APIs receive ticker symbols, and our payment provider handles subscriptions. These receive only what the feature requires, never message archives.
Opt out of message retention. Ask us and we will stop recording your messages and delete what we already hold. The bot's commands keep working normally — opting out costs you no functionality. Requests take effect within 7 days, since applying an exclusion requires a scheduled restart of the logging service.
Delete your data. You can ask us to delete everything we hold about you, whether or not you opt out of future collection.
Server-wide requests. A server owner or administrator can request that their entire server be excluded from message retention, or that their server's stored messages be deleted.
Removing the bot. Removing TrendVision from a server stops all collection from that server immediately. Data already stored is removed on request, or when the retention period expires.
To make any of these requests, email [email protected]. We honour requests from the person the data belongs to, regardless of whether they are still in the server.
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and announce material changes in our support server. Continuing to use the bot after a change means the updated policy applies.
